I was treated to a wonderful walk at the Trailside Nature Center with my friend Winifred. Our walk was fruitful, yielding many great photos. It also resulted in yours truly slipping in the mud and landing on the ground with a resounding 'THUD'! Mud was everywhere-- my face, hat, sunglasses, arms, pants and shirt. My pride was wounded but Winifred was steadfast and only concerned herself with assisting me.

Being a photographer, my first thought after falling, (well, after establishing I was still conscious), was, are the cameras ok?

I had around my neck my Sony Alpha 900 with the Minolta 500mm and my Nikon F4 with the Nikon 180mm ED. Mud was everywhere, on me and the cameras.

We all came away unscathed. Well, the cameras more than my pride!

Never let it be said I baby my equipment... I expect it to take a beating and keep working, which it did!
